I.WHO MAY ENTER
Open only to current Belmont students, faculty, staff and alumni.

II.CONTEST SCHEDULE
You may enter the Contest between 12:00:01 a.m. Central Time on April 1, 2011 and 9:00:00p.m. CT on May 12, 2013.

III.HOW TO ENTER
To enter the Contest, go to http://www.bebelmont.com (“Web Site”). BEFORE ENTERING THE CONTEST, YOU MUST EXPRESSLY AGREE AND CONSENT TO BE BOUND BY THE CONTEST RULES AND PRIVACY POLICIES OF BELMONT UNIVERSITY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE CONTEST.
A.CREATIVE ASSIGNMENT:
The creative assignment for the Contest is as follows: Choose a characterization of Vision 2015 and how it applies or has applied to your life while at Belmont.
Vision 2015 Characterizations are as follows:
Innovative and entrepreneurial thinking and action;
Students who see service as the method for achieving meaning in life;
Seeking positive change and growth at every opportunity;
Increasing evidence of the Christian character of the university.
Engagement with and service to the Nashville community that is unmatched by any other institution of higher education – Belmont is “Nashville’s University.”
B. Create an idea for a Be Belmont commercial, print advertisement, online advertisement or outdoor billboard. This is your story, so tell it from your heart.
T.V./Video submissions
Must be :15 seconds in length.
Must include at least ONE of the Vision 2015 Characterizations.
Must include both the Belmont Tower logo and website address (www.belmont.edu).
Winning entries will run on Nashville TV.
Must be submitted in both DVD and computer file format as follows:
1.1. QuickTime MPEG-2, either SD or HD. Our MPEG-2 requested bitrate is at least 8mbps for SD and 35mbps for HD. QuickTime spots should arrive with a “.mov” file extension.
2.2. Standard Definition MPEG-2 (MP@ML) of at least 8mbps (ideally 12mbps), much as would be placed on a standard DVD. For High Definition (MP@HL or 422@HL), we request at least 35mbps (ideally 45mbps) for HD content, MPEG-2 spots should arrive with a “.mpg,” “.mpeg,” or “.m2v” file extension.
3.3. QuickTime MPEG-4 codecs (sometimes referred to as H.264). If you choose an MPEG-4 codec, our target bitrates are at least 6mbps for SD or 20mbps for HD. MPEG-4 spots should arrive with either a “.mov” or “.m4v” file extension.
4.4. QuickTime ProRes 4:2:2 for SD or HD and Avid DNxHD encoded in QuickTime files for HD video. QuickTime spots should arrive with a “.mov” file extension.
Outdoor billboard/online ad submissions
Must include at least ONE of the Vision 2015 Charicterizations.
Must include the Belmont website address (www.belmont.edu).
Photographs must be in digital format as jpegs taken at 6 megapixels or higher, Photoshop files or .eps files.
Print ad submissions
Must include at least ONE of the Vision 2015 Characterizations.
Must include both the Belmont Tower logo and website address (www.belmont.edu).
Photographs must be in digital format as jpegs taken at 6 megapixels or higher, Photoshop files or .eps files.
You do not have to be a designer!
1.You have the option to submit copy and creative separately, with an explanation of your campaign, if you do not have photography, video or audio to submit. If you’re idea and images are chosen as the winner, Belmont Creative Services team will work with you to execute your images and copy for national and local advertising.
2.You may submit a completed ad done in illustrator or Photoshop.
3.You may submit an idea that includes yourself and the message that you would like to portray. If your idea and images are chosen as the winner, Belmont Creative Services team will work with you to execute your idea into ad form for national and local advertising.
4.Please submit your photographs and copy separately in a Word document. Photographs must be in digital format as jpegs taken at 6 megapixels or higher, Photoshop files or .eps files.

IV.JUDGING REQUIREMENTS
Judging Criteria is as follows:
Originality and Creativity – 40%
Adherence to Vision 2015 Characteristics – 30%
Overall Appeal – 30%
The entries in each Category will judged separately, in accordance with the judging criteria and submission guidelines, as defined above.

V.Grant of Rights and Release of Liability
By entering this Contest and uploading your submission, you irrevocably grant to Belmont University and their agents the unconditional and perpetual right to post, display, publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify such submission in any way, in any and all media, for any purpose, without limitation, and without payment to you. You agree to irrevocably assign and transfer to Belmont University any and all rights, title and interest in your submission, including, without limitation, all copyrights and waive all moral rights in your submission. You grant to Belmont University the right to use your name, image, and biographical information in connection with your submission.
Furthermore, by entering this Contest you warrant that you are the sole author of any intellectual property you have submitted and you agree to release and indemnify and hold harmless Belmont University from any and all claims that any commercial, advertising, presentation, Web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of Belmont University infringe on the rights of your work as contained in your submission.
All submissions will be reviewed for content before being published or judged; however, such review does not relieve you from responsibility for compliance with all of the Contest Rules. Submissions that do not comply in all material respects with the Contest Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited, or inappropriate content as determined by Belmont University, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified and will not be published or considered for prizes. Belmont University makes the final determination as to which submissions are eligible to take part in this Contest. Certain submissions may be featured from time to time on the Web Site or other social media outlets during and after the Contest period, in Belmont’s sole discretion; being selected as a featured submission is unrelated to the Judging Criteria and does not guarantee selection as a finalist in the contest.
All entries must be submitted and received by May 12, 2011 at 9:00:00 a.m. CT. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. Entries must be made by a Belmont University student, alumn, staff member or faculty member. Belmont University reserves the right to examine the original photograph/source material in order to confirm compliance with these rules.
If the photograph contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photograph in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation.
Upon Belmont’s request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Belmont University’s request) a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the owner of any material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing Belmont University and its licensees (“Authorized Parties”) to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Belmont University. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification at any time during the Contest and selection of an alternate winner. (Download the Model Release form).
Similarly, upon Belmont University’s request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Belmont University’s request) a signed written license from the copyright owner of any sculpture, artwork, or other copyrighted material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing any Authorized Party to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Belmont University. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Finally, upon Belmont University’s request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of Belmont University’s request) a signed written license from the owner of any private property included in the photograph entry, authorizing any Authorized Party to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. All releases must be in the form provided by Belmont University. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. For the purposes of these Official Rules, the entrant will be deemed to be in receipt of Belmont University’s request or notification, (a) in the event that Belmont University sends the request by postal mail, five business days after the request was sent by Belmont University, or (b) in the event that Belmont University sends the request by email, on the day that the email was sent by Belmont University.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Submission must be primarily in English.
Limit 3 entries per person
Limit one (1) Finalist Prize per person, household and/or email address throughout the Contest Period.
Each Submission must comply with the mission and values of Belmont University
Each Submission must be the original work of the Entrant produced for this Contest; it must meet Belmont University’s Mission and Values; it may not have been published previously in any medium; it must not infringe any party’s intellectual property or other rights; it must be suitable for display and publication on national television (e.g., may not be obscene or indecent, including but not limited to nudity or profanity); it must not contain obscene or pornographic material, it must not contain defamatory statements (including but not limited to words or symbols that are widely considered offensive to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group), it must not include threats to any person, place, business, group or world peace, it must not invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity, and it must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations or network standards.
Each Submission must not feature or reference any names or third party logos (other than BELMONT) including but not limited to third party names, logos or trademarks on street signs, panoramic views, vehicle license plates, clothing such as T-shirts, hats, etc.
Each Submission must not feature distilled spirits (i.e. hard liquor) or other alcoholic beverages,tobacco products (including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, and snuff), contraceptives, feminine hygiene products, fireworks, firearms and ammunitions, prescription drugs, illegal drugs and related drug paraphernalia, nutritional supplements, lotteries and gambling (including horse or dog racing and products or services related to gambling).
Each Submission must not contain any copyrighted works (other than as owned by the Entrant). Music must be obtained legally, and may be changed by Belmont University. Use of any unauthorized music may result in disqualification of Submission, in Belmont Universities’ sole discretion.
